Next Yacht Group expands its presence in the metal superyacht sector: Continental Investment acquires 100% of SIMAN

Viareggio, July 23, 2026

Next Yacht Group announces that SIMAN, a well-established company with extensive expertise in metal fabrication and mechanical engineering for the yachting industry, has become part of its industrial ecosystem following the acquisition of the entire share capital by Continental Investment Srl, a company under the same ownership as the Group.
This transaction represents another significant step in Next Yacht Group’s strategy of vertical integration, further enhancing its industrial expertise and production capabilities in the metal superyacht segment for the Maiora and AB Yachts brands.
In parallel with the acquisition, the Group has launched an industrial development programme backed by a total investment of €20 million, €11 million of which has already been committed. The initiative is designed to strengthen production facilities, reinforce the existing order book and bring the company to full profitability by 2027.
Established in 1988, SIMAN is a recognised specialist in mechanical engineering, propulsion systems, and refit and maintenance services for yachts of up to 60 metres. In addition to the yachting sector, the company is active in the commercial shipping and defence industries, with a substantial portfolio of ongoing contracts, including major projects for the Italian Navy.
The integration will allow Next Yacht Group to increase its manufacturing capacity by leveraging SIMAN’s production sites in La Spezia and Pisa, while also creating a dedicated division focused on the construction of metal superyachts. This development further strengthens the Group’s direct oversight of a fully Made in Italy production process.
Several new metal yacht projects are already in development for both Maiora and AB Yachts, while construction of the first 50-metre Maiora is currently underway. The first new models are scheduled to be unveiled by the end of 2026.
“The acquisition of SIMAN represents a natural evolution of our industrial growth strategy,” said Mario Petroni, Chairman of Next Yacht Group. “This transaction expands our manufacturing capabilities in the strategically important metal yacht segment while strengthening a highly specialised Italian industrial supply chain. At the same time, it creates new opportunities for growth, innovation and employment.”
The acquisition further strengthens the Group’s industrial presence across the strategic hubs of Viareggio, Pisa and La Spezia.
Since the beginning of the project, employment has been safeguarded for SIMAN’s 70 direct employees. Over the coming months, Next Yacht Group expects to recruit up to 30 additional people, while SIMAN is forecast to create around 15 further positions.
With this acquisition, Next Yacht Group continues to strengthen its integrated industrial platform while accelerating its long-term growth strategy in the global metal superyacht market.
